Mid-Columbia Gymnastics Academy Pre - Team is a starting point for kids that have experienced our recreational program and are looking to move into our competitive program in the future. Pre-Team members can have the opportunity to move into our Developmental team program or our Xcel team program.

Pre-team is intended to build the foundation for future gymnastics progression in our competitive team programs. We focus on strength, flexibility, body spacial awareness, and gymnastics skills that will help enable mastery of future skills.

Age range for pre-team is 5-8 yrs old and we have a pre-team for girls and one for boys. 

We do ask for a one year commitment from our pre-team participants. This allows family and athlete to understand what their future in team gymnastics could look like, scheduling and transportation can be major changes. It also gives the best chance for our coaching staff to get the athlete ready to be a future competitive team member.
We have formal tryouts in the spring generally, after our regular competitive season is over. We will however take pre team trials all year long based on teacher recommendation and space available.
Pre-Team trials are chosen for their strength and flexibility, ability to do basic gymnastics movements, and also their ability to listen and follow directions and make corrections.
